Can I defer/reschedule my OET Test to a different date? How much does it cost?

We understand plans change, or life gets in the way, and you'd like to reschedule your OET Test. 

You can reschedule your OET Test easily through your OET account. We’ve outlined the instructions and conditions/fees below, depending on your test type and location. Here’s what you need to know: 

To reschedule your test: 

OET on Paper at a venue:

• You can reschedule your test in your OET account up to 23:59 pm the day before the test. If you do not reschedule before the test, you will need to book a new test 
• Log into your OET account.
• Click the small arrow in the Action column under the My applications section then click defer.
• Choose your new test date and/or venue and click confirm. 

 Important information about rescheduling: 

• You can only reschedule all sub-tests together in a test booking.
• Once your test has been rescheduled, it cannot be reversed.
• You cannot reschedule an OET Test purchased with a discount code. You must instead cancel and rebook the test if you need to change the date, venue or other test booking detail.
• Refer to the OET Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy.

OET on Computer at a venue/OET@Home: 

• You can reschedule your test up to two days before the start of your first sub-test, subject to a fee and conditions. 
• Log into your OET account.
• Click on the My Bookings tab.
• Locate the test booking you wish to reschedule and click Reschedule Booking.
• For OET on Computer and OET@Home only: You will be asked to reschedule Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking or the Speaking sub-test only. Select which option you’d like to proceed with. 
• Choose what you’d like to reschedule your test to.
• Confirm your new dates and proceed to the payment page. 
• To reschedule your test within 48 hours before the start of your first subtest, please complete this form (subject to fees and conditions). 

Important information about rescheduling:

• You can reschedule all four sub-tests together or, for OET on Computer/OET@Home only, you can reschedule the Speaking sub-test only.
• If you have already taken one sub-test you cannot request to reschedule your remaining sub-tests. 
• You cannot reschedule if the date if your first sub-test has passed, with exception to as follows for the Speaking sub-test:
  If you fail to attend your Speaking sub-test, you must contact OET Support as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours after your scheduled Speaking test start time in order to reschedule. A fee of AU$100 will be applied. Failure to pay the fee may result in your results being withheld until payment is received.  Failure to reschedule your Speaking sub-test will result in a Speaking score of zero, which will be displayed as a blank in your Statement of Results. Rescheduling can only be made once.
• If you want to reschedule your test to a different country, contact our Customer Care team. 
• You cannot reschedule an OET Test purchased with a discount code. You must instead cancel and rebook the test if you need to change the date, venue or other test booking detail.
• Refer to the OET Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy.

How much does it cost to reschedule? 

The cost to reschedule varies based on your test type, where you take the test and when reschedule your test. 

OET on Paper at a venue:

Bookings close 24 days before the test date.  

• If you reschedule before bookings close for your original test date, the rescheduling fee is AU$120. 

• If you reschedule after bookings close for your original test date, the rescheduling fee is AU$200.

OET on Computer at a venue/OET@Home: 

Bookings close 7 days before the test date. 

• If you reschedule before bookings close for your original test date, the rescheduling fee is AU$120 (or US$95 for OET Tests in the USA). 
• If you reschedule after bookings close, the rescheduling fee is AU$200 (or US$155 for OET Tests in the USA).
